Article I Name of the Organization The name of the organization shall be Nepalese Student Association (NSA)

Article II Purpose: The purpose of this organization shall be

  1. To establish better relation and cooperation among Nepalese students of Oklahoma State University.
  2. To communicate to the members of the association and keep them informed about the aspects of Nepal.
  3. To foster better understanding and friendship with the people of the host country and other nationals by depicting and communicating Nepalese life and culture through various social and cultural activities.
  4. To extend all possible help and cooperation to all Nepalese Students of Oklahoma State University in such cases as may be deemed necessary by all the members of the executive committee.
  5. It will be a non-profitable, non-political student organization formed by Nepalese students of Oklahoma State University.

Article III Officers

  1. The officers of this organization shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, Vice-Secretary, Treasurer, six members and a Faculty Advisor.
  2. The qualifications for the officers in this organization shall be a full time student at Oklahoma State University with at least a 2.0 grade point average and have a good standing in the organization
  3. The duties of the officers shall be as follows:

Article IV Quorum

A Quorum for this organization shall be 51% both in the meeting of the general body and of the executive committee

Article V Membership

Nepalese national who is also a student at Oklahoma State University is eligible for membership. Other nationals who are interested in this association are eligible to become an association member. NSA shall not exclude any person of membership on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin or sex.

Article VI Dues

The yearly membership fee shall be paid once a year before annual general meeting. Amount of fee will be decided in executive committee meeting every year for the following year.

Article VII By-laws

A by-law may be passed at any regular meeting of the association by a majority vote of those in attendance provided a quorum is present.

Article VIII

  1. At the beginning of the fall semester, the Nepalese Student Association shall present the names its executive committee members and faculty advisor to the Department of Campus Life and shall promptly report any changes that occur during the year.
  2. At the beginning of the fall semester, the Nepalese Student Association shall file with department of Student activities a signed "Affirmation of Compliance".
  3. The funds of the Nepalese Student Association shall be deposited with the University banking services and these shall be audited yearly, preferably at the time a new treasurer is installed.
  4. In the spring of each year the association shall submit to the Department of Campus Life a "year-end-report" which details the programs and activities which were sponsored during the previous year.


Article IX Amendments

  1. Any amendment(s) of the Constitution may be done at least 66% majority vote of the general student body present in the general meeting provided quorum is formed.
  2. President/V.P./G.S. can take emergency measures in consultation with the executive committee to meet the best interests of the association, but the general body in the next general, emergency meeting must approve of such action.
